Abhijit Kohli sets a new record on his motorbike, visits all the five Takhts

Panvel: The record for being the first to travel to all the five Takhts of Sikhism on a motorcycle is set by Abhijit Singh Kohli from Panvel, Navi-Mumbai, Maharashtra. He travelled to all the five Takhts of Sikhism – ‘Sachkhand Shri Hazur Sahib, Nanded’, ‘Shri Harmandir Sahib, Patna’, Shri Keshgarh Sahib Gurudwara, Anandpur’, ‘Akal Takht – Golden Temple, Amritsar’ and ‘Shri Damdama Sahib Gurudwara, Bathinda (Punjab)’, covering a total distance of 5,436 km.

Abhijit Singh Kohli, born on September 11th, 1988, began the journey on October 25th, 2020 from Navi Mumbai and returned on November 11th, 2020. The record got confirmed by India Book of Records (IBR) on December 5th, 2020.

On asking that what inspired him to make this record, he said smilingly, “I did it to pray for the human race suffering from the Covid pandemic. Although, being a responsible biker, I have been riding on highways since past many years. Hence, I took this challenge with smiles.”

Getting a wonderful darshan in all Takht Gurudwaras and other religious gurudwaras, temples, meeting new people and getting exposed to different cultures was the most interesting part of this expedition. “Having langar in all the gurudwaras, a warm send-off and welcome by friends and family members was also a memorable thing. I am uploading all the vlogs on my Youtube channel – ‘Biker Gyaani’. Travelling solo carrying luggage on the motorcycle and passing through the unknown roads was the biggest challenge,” he said.

Good wishes and motivation from the family and fiends kept him going. Now, after setting the record, all of them are happy. He says, “Turban is religion and helmet is protection, so my message to all the bikers is that always wear a helmet and protection gears while riding a motorcycle. Also, keep yourself and others safe from Corona.” BlogsWire
