Excerpts of the twitter chat are as under:

You are known as an ‘outrageously’ happy person. What is the secret of your happiness?

Happiness is a direction not a destination. Choose to run in that direction with optimism by making 'better' choices. Being Happy is not something you achieve, it is something you are. Choose to be happy and you will be. It is simple.

What is your way to conscious living?

Unlock your potential in 2021- Step back, Examine your life and align it with what you want. Martin Seligman's book ‘Learned Optimism’ explains this in detail. He’s known as the father of Positive Psychology.

What the things we should keep in mind while planning for the year?

Find your meaning, value and clarity from what you endured in 2020 to create abundance amidst uncertainty in 2021. Reconnect with what's important to you. Find your gifts of 2020 learning. Now, in 2021 give your gifts away! Don't set new year resolutions this time. Get straight to making it the best year - Focus and ask what really matters to you and build on it. Optimism is not blind positivity. It's ability to see emptiness of glass 1/2 full, while focusing on the fullness of the other half. It's ability to look for silver-lining in any cloud. 2020 gave us many “half empty” moments, 2021 will be defined by our ability to see “half full” moments. Just be resilient. Reflect, Refresh and Reset as the future has a habit of quickly becoming the present.

Which soft skills can keep one ahead in career?

Soft skills are revered as they facilitate human connections. They may seem simple and you may already be practicing them, but push yourself to do more. Go deeper, even further. Because in 2021, these become even more important to remain relevant and keep you ahead. Growth Mindset is crucial to deal with after effect of the ongoing crisis. You also need to have the High Order Thinking Skills (HOTS). i.e. creative cognisance, issue resolution, agile decision making, crisis mitigation, strategic thinking to respond and adapt to change faster.

Communication skill is important as  always. Leaders today are storytellers and empathic listeners, who use the art of communications to align, co-opt and inspire. Then comes the Emotional Awareness. Know what you are feeling and how to respond. Leadership quality is also a must. You should have confidence, clarity and compassion to move people to believe and align with you and build trust. Organisations always look for leadership potential in their employee as they will be the future leaders taking over the reins and building on the company’s legacy.

How to search for the hidden opportunities in a crisis situation like Covid?

2020 was not the year to get everything we want. This was the year to appreciate everything we have. My Father said, Gratitude can be found on the flip side of everything. Rarely is anything 100% bad and nor was 2020. A positive attitude is the most powerful thing. Don’t forget that grass grows through concrete. No matter what challenges you face, live consciously, make better choices and you will have the strength to resurrect like a phoenix in 2021.

The toughest part of daily routine is doing exercise or yoga. How to overcome the laziness?

Having more time doesn’t make you more productive, unless you chose to be. It’s easy to say ‘If only I had more time I would…’, but reality is different. I find the less free time I have, the more productive I get. I create targets and schedule - daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and have a routine what I want to do - writing, exercise and more to manage my priorities and not let time manage me. Remember, it takes 21 days to build a habit, and it takes 90 days to make a lifestyle.

How can we keep our focus by following the practice of meditation?

Solitude is good to connect with yourself. Pausing for a while, gives a bird’s eye view of your daily life and replaces chaos with serenity. Spend minimum of 10 minutes a day to meditate, pray, or contemplate nature to connect with something larger than yourself for inspiration and peace of mind. Mediation is the antidote for me. Its the journey from head to heart, from movement to stillness, from chaos to peace, from stress to calm, from sound to silence.

Which five habits can turn 2021 into our best year?

2020 gone and 2021 is here. It's like time is that bubble that reached it's zenith and diminished, giving us new learning. Hope and faith with introspection and intention to reinvent will bring the renewal we desire in the new adventure in 2021. Be resilient and take charge of your life. Live with intention not with habit. Focus on what truly matters: People, habits, things. Unclutter life to fill it what you ‘really want, with what ‘truly’ matters to you. 2020 offered an opportunity to experiment, knowing what matters by cutting things out of your life, then seeing what you miss and what you don’t.

Focus on the solution. Feel empowered to cope with uncertainty and crisis. Step back from the problem and focus on the possibilities. Negativity zooms in and focus on the problem. Broaden your perspective to see potential in the big picture. Kindness matters. Make giving a way of life. We are fortunate to have Roti (Food), Kapda (Clothes) and Makaan (Home). Share your joy, your sparkle and should see how much you get when you give. Kindness is a kind of power. Practice positive self-talk. Be as kind to yourself as your best friend. Underscore your triumphs. Affirm positive feedback.

What is the importance of gratitude in life?

Gratitude unlocks abundance and brings happiness. It unshackles toxic emotions and improves health, creates positivity, builds resilience and relationships. The more grateful I am, the more I find to be grateful for. It feeds on itself. I sleep better, wake up light. My days flow better. We all want that. Gratitude unlocks compassion and inspires me to giveaway - and you know what? By paying it forward and helping others, I create more abundance and end up helping myself. Each one of us has the power to make someone happy. Just to it.

What is your key take way on Leadership in 2021?

In 2020 leadership paradigms changed and it was about empowering people, conscious optimism- showing the reality, while giving hope and confidence that we will emerge, building resilience of our team and finally undeterred focus on moving people to doing good. During crisis leadership above anything else is about being human, about serving a family. It’s reassuring to see the move to making work more human and creating human-centred organizational cultures. For leaders focus for 2021 will be on building resilient organisations with redundancy built to absorb future shocks, be comfortable with ambiguity and chaos. We can't predict the end of this crisis and there is no playbook. Learn to adjust, improvise and learn as the situation changes. BlogsWire
